Welcome to Polace.net!

Polače is a village on the shores of Polače Bay on the western side of Mljet Island. The history of the place starts in the ancient Roman era and the name itself (polače = palaces) refers to the buildings from those distant times.

While the most trafficked port of Mljet Island is the one in Sobra, during the summer season Polače also has scheduled connections with the main land, with Dubrovnik.

The main attraction of Mljet is its national park and Polače is the entrance to the park: this is the place where one can buy tickets, jump in the park's van, take a walk or bicycle ride to explore the protected beauties of the island.
